Teams arrived at a marina on Lake Mead to find a speedboat waiting for
them. They had instructions to find someone named Maguey Verde in a
particular cove out on the lake. The person handing off the boat also
gave them team a map, and then they were on their own. After a ride
of approximately 15 minutes, the lake began to narrow, and eventually
they turned into a beautiful narrow cove, at the end of which Maguey
was waiting for them.
Because there was nowhere to dock the boat, teams had to send someone
to swim to shore. When they got there, Maguey handed them a paint can
that had been hammered shut. Teams needed some sort of tool, like a
screwdriver, to open the can. Inside were the 9 plastic discs. Those
who brought a tool to open the can and could think while speeding
across the lake in a boat could start working on the puzzle on the
ride back.
